PRUNUS Lusitanica Angustifolia (Portuguese Laurel)

Common name:   Portuguese laurel  

    A large evergreen plant which is relatively slow growing form with good bushy foliage of glossy dark green leaves on red stems.

This evergreen hedging plant has small fragrant white flowers (loved by bees and butterflies) in the Summer and small red fruits (incredibly popular with birds), turning black, in autumn. 

  It will thrive in any well-drained soil, even shallow chalky ones or heavy clay. It's very hardy and will grow in shade, but is not ideal for very exposed sites.
